Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 13, 2026
Sendtown ("we", "our", or "us") operates sendtown.pro (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do with it.
Information We Collect
When you register for Sendtown, we collect a display name and a hashed representation of your email address. We do not store your email address in plain text. Your email is converted to a one-way cryptographic hash before it is saved to our database. This means we cannot read, recover, or use your email address -- not for marketing, not for any purpose. We are technically incapable of contacting you by email even if we wanted to.
We also collect the climbing activity data you voluntarily submit: routes you have climbed, grades, send types, and related metadata. This data is associated with your account and may be displayed to other users of the same gym or location (for example, on a leaderboard).
Information We Do Not Share
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party. We have no analytics providers, no advertising networks, no marketing platforms, and no data brokers receiving information about you. The only data that leaves our servers is what you explicitly share by using the Service (for example, a public route page visible to anyone with the link).
Cookies and Session Data
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie contains a random session token that is validated against our database on each request. It does not contain personal information and is not used for tracking.
Data Retention
Your account and activity data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us (see below). Upon deletion, your account record and associated sends will be removed from our active database.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed credentials, and access controls limiting who can reach production systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
